How much does an RV or caravan solar system cost?
Our solar packages start at $1,350 for a 100W weekend setup and run to $2,550 for a 600W extended off-grid system — see the pricing table above. Prices are indicative; the final figure depends on your vehicle, battery setup and install requirements, and we'll confirm it with a clear quote.
How many solar panels do I need?
It comes down to what you run and how long you stay off-grid. A weekend fridge-and-lights setup needs far less than full-time off-grid living — our 200W and 400W packages cover most travellers. Not sure? Try our solar calculator below, or we'll size it properly during your consultation.
Can you install Victron, Redarc, Enerdrive and Projecta gear?
Yes — these are the brands we install most. Victron for MPPT controllers, inverters and monitoring; Redarc and Projecta for DC-DC charging; Enerdrive for lithium power. We can also build around gear you've already bought.
Do you work on both motorhomes and caravans?
We do — motorhomes, caravans, campervans and conversions. Whatever you travel in, we can design and fit a solar and power system to suit it.
Can I charge the batteries while I'm driving?
Yes. A DC-DC charger (Redarc or Projecta) tops up your house batteries from the vehicle alternator as you drive, so you're not relying on sun alone — ideal for NZ trips with shorter winter days.

Our workshop is at 64 Sandyford Street, Sydenham, Christchurch. We look after RV owners throughout Canterbury and across the wider South Island — many customers plan a trip through Christchurch for larger solar and battery builds.
