Keep Your Batteries Charged & Protected
REDARC battery management keeps your auxiliary batteries topped up from every power source you have — your engine, solar, and mains power — so you've always got power when you need it. Here's a plain-English guide to the range, and how we help you choose.
What Is Battery Management, Really?
Your RV has two jobs to do with electricity: charge the batteries that run your fridge, lights and devices, and protect those batteries so they last for years rather than months. Battery management does both, automatically.
The tricky part is that your batteries can be charged from three different sources — the vehicle's alternator while you drive, solar panels when the sun's out, and mains power when you're plugged in at home or a campsite. A good battery manager juggles all three, gives each battery exactly the charge it needs, and stops when they're full. REDARC makes two families of product to do this, and which one suits you comes down to a couple of simple questions.
Two Ways to Manage Your Power
The main difference is simple: do you need to charge from mains power too, or just from your vehicle and solar?
BCDC Alpha Chargers
An in-vehicle DC-DC charger that tops up your auxiliary battery from your alternator and solar while you drive.
Best if you…
- Charge mainly while driving, plus solar when parked
- Want a compact, lower-cost starting point
- Don't need built-in mains (240V) charging, or already have an AC charger
- Have a 4x4, camper or smaller motorhome setup
Good to know
- Green Power Priority uses solar first to save fuel
- Can revive a flat start battery in about 15 minutes
- Includes a Smart Battery Monitor and app connectivity
- Charges all common battery types, including lithium (LiFePO4)
Manager Systems
A complete system that charges from your vehicle, solar and mains power — six functions in one box, with a colour display.
Best if you…
- Want one tidy unit that does everything, including 240V mains charging
- Spend time plugged in at home or powered sites as well as off-grid
- Want full monitoring on a screen and your phone
- Have a motorhome or caravan you live in or travel long-term
Good to know
- Combines a DC-DC charger, mains charger, solar regulator, isolator & more
- Comes with the RedVision display and app
- Green Power Priority and full lithium compatibility
- One install, one system to learn — simpler day to day
A Quick Way to Narrow It Down
Do you ever plug into mains power (at home or a powered site)? If yes, and you want that built in, a Manager handles it in one box. If you only charge from the vehicle and solar, a BCDC Alpha is all you need.
How big is your battery bank? Bigger banks charge faster with more amps — 50A suits smaller setups, 75–100A suits larger ones. We size this to your actual batteries so you're not waiting around or overpaying.
How do you travel? Weekends and short trips lean toward a simpler BCDC Alpha; full-time or long-term living usually justifies the all-in-one convenience and monitoring of a Manager.
Still unsure? That's exactly what we're here for. Tell us your vehicle and how you use it, and we'll recommend the right unit — no guesswork, no over-speccing.
The Charger Is Only Half the Job
Longer Battery Life
The right charge profile — especially for lithium — means your expensive batteries last years longer.
Power That's Always There
Charging from every source you have means you're far less likely to run flat, wherever you are.
Sized & Wired Properly
Correct cable sizing, fusing and mounting to AS/NZS standards — the difference between kit that works and kit that lasts.
Set Up & Explained
We configure the system, show you the app, and hand it over so you actually understand your own power.
