Who needs an EWOF?
EWOF certification is mandatory for all self-contained motorhomes and caravans in New Zealand. If you want to freedom camp at designated sites, you must have both a valid self-containment certificate and current EWOF certification.
How long does EWOF certification last?
EWOF certification is valid for 4 years from the date of issue. You'll need to renew your certification before it expires to maintain compliance for freedom camping and self-containment requirements.
How long does the EWOF inspection take?
Most EWOF inspections take 1-2 hours depending on your vehicle's complexity and electrical system configuration. We'll let you know the expected timeframe when you book.
What if my RV fails the EWOF inspection?
